Paul A. Mikel
Paul started out as a less-than-stellar student, but got involved in learning how true entrepreneurs were wired by working with an amazing person and figured out he was wired to be one. He started in sales and marketing at 22; traveled the country opening offices in sales and marketing for two different companies as a lead trainer; then settled down in Florida in 2002, and began opening a traditional business that he sold in the precious metals and jewelry industry.
Kim Gomez
Kim Gomez has a passion for reaching people in the most unlikely places: from the Adult Entertainment Clubs to Juvenile Detention Centers across Palm Beach County. She currently serves on the boards of Epic Beauty and Palm Beach Women’s Network and has recently authored a book built around her Four Square Mentoring Framework. Her experience as a local business owner along with a high level of community and church involvement has helped broaden her knowledge and skills, but more importantly, has fueled her purpose to strengthen women and help them move forward into their full potential. Kim’s passion is helping women discover the treasures that God has already placed inside of them.
Dr. Henry Virkler
Dr. Virkler serves on LightHousePBC’s advisory board, lending his expertise as a counselor educator and counselor for more than 40 years. He received his Ph.D. in counseling from Georgia State University and taught in Georgia for 15 years, then in Virginia for 5 years, and then at Palm Beach Atlantic University for 22 years, where he retired as Professor Emeritus.
Dr. Christina Filis
Dr. Filis currently serves on the advisory board for Y.E.S. (Young Earth Stewards) and LightHouse PBC. She has worked in higher education for over 20 years inclusive of teaching at the University of Maryland, Catholic University of America, Palm Beach Atlantic University and Lynn University. Her experience includes the ownership of Social Media and Design Associates LLC d.b.a. EGO Business Solutions; an all-in-one marketing, graphic design and web design company. She has worked together with LightHousePBC (formerly Hepzibah House) since 2017.
Ken Coleman
Ken is a veteran community leader and volunteer in non-profit organizations in northern Palm Beach County. As an local small business owner for 33 years, he developed a reputation as an innovator, creative problem solver, and visionary willing to invest in building a better community. He brings a critically important contribution with his active concern for the environment, culture, and social vitality of Palm Beach County.
Lori Boyle
A banker with Flagler Credit Union, Lori lends her financial acumen, analytical skills, critical thinking and extensive networking in the local community to LightHousePBC. She is passionate about the opportunity to raise awareness of the women being commercially sexually exploited in Palm Beach County and participate in providing restoration and hope.
Dustin Oprea
An engineer, a businessman and a Christian with a long history of small business and nonprofit involvement with a heart for both technology and marginalized/forgotten peoples.
